Okay, I've read several threads (including the detailed info on the factions release) and I can't get an answer to my question.

Here's my situation.
I currently have a GW1 account with 4 PvE characters lvl20 that I refuse to delete.

I just bought the Faction Pre-Order, and I understand that for the beta event weekend I will NOT get the 2 additional character slots but I will be able to create a separate account.

Here's my question.
If I make a separate account during the weekend event, will I be able to merge this account after I pick up and install the full retail version of factions?

The detail I've read on factions is that I have a choice to keep the separate account that I've made over the beta weekend, but can it be merged? If so, will I be able to merge my accounts or have access to all 6 slots of a merged account 24 hours before release since I have the pre-order package?

Well after running to circut city, comp USA, and Best Buy, none had it. So i went to another Best buy and they had it. How sad, but i have it now, so i'm all set.

PS: Before talking to someone look around to see if its on the self, becuase that is where i found mine.

If you create a separate account for the beta weekend, you can add retail keys for GW, but you won't be able to merge them.

My advice - create a separate account for the weekend, just don't get too attached to the characters.

No, Anet will never merge two accounts. So you should add the pre-order key to your main account for the items and 24 hour early access to Factions. Use one of your invite keys or friend key to create a new account to play in the beta event.

Thanks! I'll merge the pre-order with my existing account then.

I just hope that the 6 slot merge takes place before the offical release date, since the people that pre-order get to play 24 hours earlier than everyone else. I would really like to get a head start. If I have to wait until the official release date to play my 6 merged character slots I will be disappointed.

I don't see why you wouldn't get the 2 bonus slots with your activated account... I mean, it's the full game, only a day early!

nope thats not true....it has free shipping so u do end up only spending 1 doller...but u can only get one copy per person

when u check out on the bill it adds the price of ground shipping then subtracts it again...for sum reason...lol...it only works with standard shipments though if u get one or 2 day mail u gotta pay shipping

I have Best Buy, Circuit City, EB Games and GameStop here and none of them have the preorder in their store. Game Stop is the only one that expects to get it but they can't tell me when. What is going on?

Just looking for confirmation, mainly from ANet.
My local preorder site (found through the official site) has this listed as a feature of the CE:

"Key for additional Character Slots"

Now, this could either simply mean that you get 2 additional slots if you link your account. But what I first thought when I saw it was this: That you get an additional THIRD slot by linking with a CE edition.
Why did I think this?

The CE has no ingame features listed. GW:P CE had the Divine Aura thing when you do an emote. But this has nothing else listed than "Key for additional Character Slots". So maybe this will be the ingame feature. Being able to have a 7th/5th character on your linked/unlinked account!

So, is this already confirmed? If not, could the ANet staff please confirm this? And do you believe it is plausible?

FYI Australians,

I just rang my EB Games store in Queens Plaza, Brisbane.
I had already reordered my copy of Factions a few weeks ago, I rang EB Games this morning and asked about the Factions Preorder Kit and she knew exactly what I was talking about, it came up in the system and everything!

She also said they hadn't recieved the kits and should be getting them in within the next few weeks [!!]. I already have my copy reserved she said becuase I have preordered.

So Aussies... All is not lost!!

Umm... maybe if you're actually trying to buy the preorder *plus* the game, the shipping is free. But if you try to just buy the preorder alone you're talking less than $25 so no free shipping.

Remember, I was just trying to order a bunch of the preorders, not the game.

Its possible that you can only get the extra spot if you have both CE...Not just one...It would be a nice move. But fryday we will found out the truth. Thats when their going to tell us what will offical be in the CE:F...till then sit down and lay back and wait.

Gaile has already made a post on that list.

she said several things on it were incorrect.

she also said for the umteenth time unless it is official on our official site it is a rumor brought on by wishful thinking and most likely wrong.

everybody seems so desparate for one more slot this keeps coming back like whack a mole

i think that means no extra slot for CE

Dunno... It seemed to me that ANet was pretty clear that we would only recieve an additional 2 character slots by linking our Factions accout with an existing GW account. Those that choose to play Factions as a stand alone get 4 accounts. I wish we could get a character slot for each profession...

i was talkin about the preorder...if u juss buy the preorder disc and pick standard dilivery when u finish checking out its only $1....it had free shipping without the game..but u can only buy one pre-order disk....unless it was like a special offer that they only had on the 7th or sumthing
